Thomvest is a group of investment companies which make investments on behalf of Peter J. Thomson and his family. For more than 25 years, Thomvest has aligned its capital with exceptional teams to achieve superior results.
Thomvest Ventures is a venture capital fund based in San Francisco. We also invest across Canada via Thomvest Asset Management. We are a stage agnostic fund and our investment per company ranges from $500K to more than $20M. Since its inception in 1996, Thomvest Ventures has invested over $500 million in more than 60 technology companies.

Within this vertical, we primarily invest in the areas of online lending, housing finance, credit markets and vertical SaaS for financial institutions.

We focus on the intersection of cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure, particularly as organizations continue to move to hybrid and multi-cloud architectures.

We invest across the full go-to-market lifecycle, including digital advertising, marketing automation and technologies to enable sales teams.
Thomvest Properties is a diversified real estate investment fund based in Dallas. Thomvest Properties provides flexible terms and investment structures, without the limitations of a finite fund lifespan or numerous limited partners. We have a significant portfolio of single-family residential properties in the United States, Canada, and elsewhere. At Thomvest Asset Management, we are also seeking to invest alongside proven real estate management and development teams in a variety of real estate investment classes in Canada and elsewhere.

NNN Lease Properties
In 2020, Thomvest Properties began acquiring a portfolio of NNN lease properties and it actively seeks investment opportunities with a purchase price of between $4 million and $15 million per property.

Opportunistic Investments
Our opportunistic investment strategy invests in real estate assets that do not fall within traditional investment criteria. Typically, the assets are in need of additional cash investments or are subject to encumbrances that cannot be readily resolved.

Residential Properties
Thomvest Properties continues to invest in and operate a portfolio of residential real estate assets through a separate investing platform.
Thomvest Asset Management is based in Toronto and makes significant private equity investments, both via funds and directly, in the United States, Canada and internationally. We invest across a variety of industries, in both control and minority growth capital investments, and seek opportunities to be an “active co-investor” alongside strong management teams, in a spirit of partnership.
