Don Butler Managing Director Don’s 20 year career spans a variety of roles with emerging growth technology companies. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Apsalar, Avalanche, Axcient, Kabbage, Milyoni, Netbase, and YottaMark. Don’s past investments have included FlashSoft (acquired by SanDisk), GuardianEdge (acquired by Symantec), and Okena (acquired by Cisco). Before joining Thomvest, Don led the Asian business development efforts for several start-up companies in the software and networking industries as part of his work with Asia Pacific Ventures. Previously, Don was an Analyst with Lehman Brothers, where he worked with clients in the software and semiconductor industries. Don received a B.A. in Chinese from UCLA and M.A.s in both East Asian Studies and Political Science from Stanford.
| | Jonathan Barker Venture Partner Jonathan's diverse background includes managing the China subsidiaries of two Fortune 500 companies: Commercial Metals Company and EchoStar Communications Corporation; co-founding a Silicon Valley-based video search technology company - MeeVee - as well as developing strategic marketing and distribution plans, structuring and negotiating financial and commercial transactions, and carrying out due diligence for more than two dozen multinational companies and investment banks. Jonathan sits on the board of Tactus Technology. He holds a Master's degree in East Asian Studies from Harvard University and a Bachelor's degree in Chinese from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Venture Partner Kip's 30 year career includes senior management and marketing positions with P&G, PepsiCo and eBay. Kip also serves as the Dean of the U.S. Marketing Communication College at the U.S. State Department. He earned his B.S. degree from LSU in marketing and his MBA from the University of Cincinnati. Kip currently a Board Observer for Netbase and the Board of Advisors for YottaMark. Kip is also the President of KnightVision Marketing, a leading marketing consultancy based in Silicon Valley.

Associate Andrew's background includes finance and consulting experience across a variety of industries. He has helped source and works closely with Apsalar, DataXu, FlashSoft (acquired by Sandisk), Stipple, and Virool. Andrew was part of Goldman Sachs' global equity research group in New York, focusing on technical analysis and financial modeling for industrial companies. He also worked as an operations analyst for Berkeley Capital, a San Francisco private equity firm, reducing costs internally and optimizing IT systems. Andrew graduated Phi Beta Kappa from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a minor in German studies.

Eric Liu Analyst Eric's background includes finance, business development, and market research. Previous to joining Thomvest, Eric worked at Alpine Investors, a San Francisco-based private equity firm. He also worked as a business development associate for a high-tech company and an analyst for a video game market research firm. Before graduating UC Berkeley, Eric founded one of the largest entrepreneurship organizations on campus. He is also a fellow of the Kairos Society. Eric is currently a senior at UC Berkeley studying Business Administration.

Analyst Natasha's background includes finance, consulting, and business development. In the past Natasha has worked as an analyst for the San Francisco-based investment bank PCG Advisors and a business development strategist for Clifford Chance LLP in London. Natasha is currently a senior at UC Berkeley studying English Literature and pursuing a Certification in Engineering Leadership. Natasha teaches a class on Technology Entrepreneurship at Haas Business School and is External Vice President of Berkeley Consulting, a student-run consulting organization. Natasha recently completed a semester-long strategic consulting project for Hewlett-Packard.

Analyst Nima's background includes management consulting, marketing, and early-stage startups. Prior to joining Thomvest, Nima was an associate consultant at ZS Associates, helping clients in the high tech and biotech industries develop sales and marketing strategies. Nima was also a member of the founding team at Sponge, a SaaS community engagement platform, where he led teams in product development and marketing. Nima graduated with high honors from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

Stefan works with start-ups, primarily in the financial services, software and communication sectors, and also manages Thomvest’s non-venture investments. Prior to joining Thomvest, Stefan practiced corporate law in Silicon Valley and international corporate tax law in Toronto. He sits on the boards of DataXu, Inxent, Public Mobile, and Tactus Technology. Stefan has a B.A. (Great Distinction) and an LL.B. (Distinction) from McGill University, and is a member of both the Law Society of Upper Canada and the State Bar of California. 
| | Anesu Nyamuda Associate Anesu's background includes finance and investing. Out of college, Anesu joined Goldman Sachs in New York as an equity analyst where he helped to establish the firm's US Life Science Tools and Diagnostics equity research franchise, and performed fundamental analysis on Medical Technology and Machinery companies. Prior to his Wall Street career, Anesu co-founded the Bridgeway Investment Partnership, the first student-owned and student-run investment club at Howard University. He also volunteered as an instructor/advocate for financial literacy amongst college, middle and high school students as part of the Educated Consumer Program. Anesu holds a Bachelors in Business Administration, Finance from Howard University.
